 1. Which model of communication in your view is the most realistic in today’s business workplace?

 

Answer:  Business communication is a process of exchanging ideas, and information between people within the organization and outside an organization with the mission of achieving common organizational goals. Communication is the most important thing for effective communication and running the organization smoothly. Verbal, non-verbal, and visual communication are widely in practice in today’s workplace. Electronic means are in practice in today’s workplace. People use different models for communication purposes. Some of them are as follows:

a.       Linear model of communication

b.       Interactive model of communication

c.       Transactional model of communication

d.       Constructive model of communication.

All these models are essential to the model of communication. Out of them as question demands a transactional model of communication is the most relevant model of communication in realistic today’s business world. This is a dynamic and the closest to reality in today’s world. It shows that each person in the communication act is both a sender and receiver and can send and receive messages simultaneously. Encoding and decoding take place unconsciously. The two roles- sending and receiving -overlap. The distinction between the source and the receiver is blurred. All the elements or steps in the communication process are independent. The model rightly shows that communication is an ongoing and continuously changing process. The sender’s or receiver’s background, past experiences, attitudes, physical location, and cultural values have a bearing on the way he \she communicates. Answer: Oral communication refers to the exchanging of information in a verbal language or speech. Examples of oral communication include face-to-face conversations, interviews, informal encounters, meetings, speeches, conferences telephone calls, etc. It is important in business communication to exchange ideas, to persuade people toward a point of view, or solve problems.

Oral communication process

Speaker : The speaker is te person who uses verbal, non-verbal or visual cues to generate messages to the listeners through the channel. speaker encodes the message and the listener decodes it to get information.

Message: a message is information given to the listener by a speaker.

Listener: the listener is the target person who receives the message. she tries to understand the message according to the situation, if he\ she fails to understand the message, the communication gets failed

 Feedback: as soon as the listener gets the message he\’she shows a reaction to the speaker instantly. This is called feedback.

Interferences: interferences refer to disturbances during the communication process. sometimes we find communication in the form of noise or distractions.

Situation: it refers to the context in which we make communication. Communication takes place concerning time and space which determines the meaning of the word. The situation is comprised of place and time and the environment and surrounding of the communication event. When we understand the situation, we
